ENGL 253 - British Literature I

TExt

This course is designed to acquaint you with some of the major works of Medieval and Renaissance British literature.  We will seek to understand these works with reference to the specific social, political, and artistic conditions of their time, but we will also try to increase our understanding of these works as they speak to us today.

Here is a list of books for the class. I've put some links in, but you should feel free to get them anywhere you like, including the college bookstore.  If you get the two Broadview volumes together at the college bookstore, I believe the “bundled” set  may cost only $69.95.  This option is NOT available at either Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com.  So... unless you can find used copies of each volume separately for less than $69.95, you might be better off getting the bundle at the college bookstore.   Whatever you do, make sure you don’t get the concise edition of the Broadview.
